Huckleberry Hound

Here's yet another illo for Mr. Jim Main's cartoon issue. I originally drew Huck in a horizontal layout and after emailing Jim we thought it best to keep it as a vertical layout like the other contributions to the book. So here are both versions for your viewing pleasure!!

Peter Potamus

I've done some character art for Jim Main at Main Enterprises to be used in his TRIBUTE comic book. The fourth issue has a cartoon character theme to it and I had some fun drawing the bestest cartoons from my favorite studio, Hanna-Barbera. Get in touch with Jim and make sure ya tell him that I sent you!

Hobo Bobo

I just unearthed this concept sketch for what could be a title card for that completely forgettable silent film and syndicated comic strip star "Hobo Bobo". To the delight of children and adults alike, Bobo never made a single cartoon. Imagine that!..

the doggone villainy of modog!!

attention all you comic geeks (like me) out there!! here's a sketch of everyone's favorite big headed super-villain modog!

dog comix original art

Now that I'm freelance, I'm trying to do a bunch of stuff during my day. I'm trying my best to keep ink on my hands and I'm working on the next issue of my mini comic "dog comix".

I'm offering this "skunked dog in tub" original art up for sale at $20.00. Please note that this is my first try at this gag. I did a new version because I thought the cans should say "tomato juice" instead of what's here. The first blogger who contacts me gets it. Thanks!!

y'know...

here's a comic page done for th' fun of it! straight outta my brainpan and onto th' bristol. i used my koh-i-noor artpen for everythin', even the borders and letterin'! i like to switch back and forth between that and my trusty and crusty ol' hunts #513. i started usin' sumi black ink 'cause th' higgins eternal black ink wasn't truly waterproof and would bleed when i used whiteout for corrections! no editorial input. no better ideas on how to draw it. just me. just fine...

Cartoon Loonacy #105 cover

hey kids,
i was looking at the gene deitch "cat on a hot thin groove" book and got inspired. i wanted the art to still keep that pencilled look and i was happy with the end result.
